Supercooling: Teachers' Notes

This short topic is concerned with drawing graphs where one of the axes uses values below zero.

In the context of finding the proportion of antifreeze needed to ensure a water-based coolant remains liquid down to at least -30°C, a graph is plotted and extended (extrapolated).
